Gold (enhanced) validation:
Published paper with in-depth specificity (at least 35 isolates) and sensitivity testing (technical and all relevant biological), comparison with the standard test with at least 100 samples including naturally infected, inter-lab comparison or ring test, all pertinent matrixes tested. Reproducibility and repeatability data (three times).

Silver (standard) validation:
Published paper, specificity (at least key 20 isolates) and sensitivity testing (technical and the key biological), comparison with the standard test with a limited number of samples, key matrixes tested. Proof it works with naturally infected samples. Reproducibility and repeatability data (three times).

Minimum validation:
Basic specificity test with less than 20 isolates but in silico testing. Technical sensitivity. Proof it works on real-life samples. Basic reproducibility and repeatability (twice).

In-house lab validation:
Publish a paper (less than standard validation on paper) in the house verification, in silico testing of the spiked host samples, plant internal control, and minimum standard for validation parameter (sensitivity, repeatability, reproducibility, robustness) from PV workflow (based form EPPO).
